As a result of HUAC's exposure of widespread Communist infiltration, the studios launched blacklists.<BR/><BR/>It was not until three years later, in 1950, that Senator Joe McCarthy entered the battle. He did not serve on HUAC, and in fact did not serve in the House of Representatives at all; he was in the Senate.<BR/><BR/>McCarthy's hearings did not involve Hollywood, but were concerned exclusively with Communist and Soviet infiltration of the Federal government.<BR/><BR/>See M.
